Andrew & the Dolls is a St. Louis based band led by Singer/Songwriter Andrew Dahle. He is accompanied by the talents of Brent Feldman on lead guitar, Josh Rivera on percussion, Audrey Kwong on violin, and Andrew Menger on Bass. The band offers original indie folk with a touch of americana.

ANDREW DAHLE

Andrew is a St. Louis native with a passion for storytelling and music. Growing up, music was always something that stuck with him. Through grade school he participated in the school’s orchestra and even joined the Fiddler’s Club, a touring group of fiddling youngsters. He eventually abandoned the rigid structure of orchestra a few years later and purchased a guitar which has been his weapon of choice ever since.

His music draws inspiration from past experiences of love and loss which he uses to create songs that he hopes listeners find relatable. His biggest influences include John Prine, Jason Isbell, and Townes Van Zandt.

ASHLEY ANNA

VOCALS

Ashley was born on a remote island just off the coast of Rhode Island. She grew up as the only member of the choir at a school of 10 children. On this island they mostly spoke Dutch but her family thought it was important for her to learn english at a young age so that she would have an easier transition into the rest of the states when her fathers contract was up at the toy factory.

After a few years they settled in at their new home in St. Louis where Ashley spent her years going door to door looking for a band to join. On one fateful day, she happened to knock on Andrew Dahle’s door… the rest, as they say, is history.

BRENT FELDMAN

LEAD GUITAR

Brent Feldman met Andrew in 2013, but it wasn’t until 2017 that they realized their mutual love for music and the two began jamming together. Brent has been writing, playing and self-producing music since he was 12 years old. Although he mainly sticks to guitars, he also plays bass and drums. In the past, he produced tracks in various hip hop and electronic works. His first folk recording wasn’t until the duo put together “Murder Ballad” in December of 2017.

JOSH RIVERA

DRUMS

Adding to the diverse musical roots of the band, Josh Rivera hails from a background in punk rock. He is a self-taught percussionist and has been a member of a few other music groups in the past. Josh knew Andrew through mutual friends and decided to move in with him when he came to St. Louis from Chicago in March 2018.

AUDREY KWONG

VIOLIN

Audrey Kwong, a recent St. Louis transplant from southern California, is a classically trained violinist that has been playing since she was 2 years old. In her adult life Audrey has earned her Bachelors degree in violin performance from the University of Southern California Thornton School of Music and a Masters in Arts Management from Carnegie Mellon University. She currently works on the Artistic Operations team at the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra.

She joined the band after meeting Andrew at Gaslight Studio and quickly made herself a vital part of the band.

ANDREW MENGER

BASS

Andrew Menger was born in Houston, TX were he spent most of his life until moving to St. Louis in July 2018.  The first time the two Andrews met, Menger was playing accompaniment on his first instrument, the viola, before officially joining the band as the bassist. You may still catch Menger on the viola for Andrew & the Dolls shows from time-to-time. While Menger is a very talented singer songwriter himself and has written a few songs, he prefers to play accompaniment instruments with other singers. In his life outside of music, Andrew conducts research at Wash U on how government policies and voting laws affect voting behavior in the United States and abroad.
